Remote Music Lessons with Ruth Seodi

I am a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians. My stipulations below, are in line with their recent safeguarding suggestions for music teachers giving lessons remotely.

Safeguarding:

  1. Children must only access Zoom/Skype via a Parent or Guardian's account.  Parents/Guardians must formally agree to online lessons (email is acceptable)
  2. Pupils must be in a room with an open door during lessons and a trusted adult must be in the same premises as the pupil during the lesson
  3. I will not record any lessons but lessons may be recorded by the pupil at their own discretion. These recordings must not be shared or posted on social media.

Requirements during lessons:

  1. Pupil's phone should be off or on silent during lessons
  2. There should be as little background noise as possible (no TV/radio or other internet activity).
  3. The pupil and myself must avoid interrupting each other – one dialogue at a time.
  4. The pupil/parent should set up the lesson space a few minutes prior to the lesson start time to avoid delays.

Cancellations:

Lessons cancelled less than 48 hrs prior to the lesson start time will be liable for full payment.
