HANDS TOGETHER!
The X means: cross thumb UNDER your hand to the next note going up, and cross OVER the thumb coming down.
Read the numbers backwards to come down (descend).

These exercises are based on scales. They use the 1st, 3rd and 5th notes from their scale. There are stretches between every note!
When crossing under or over, take care not to raise your elbow! Make your fingers do the work!
